In the podcast you mentioned this act led to nobody being punished when in fact it's just the opposite. Each slave is crucified on posts leading all the way back to Rome. It makes their sacrifice all the more genuine, knowing that it actually lead to all their deaths.

Yep, you called me out. While I have seen this particular scene above many times (even seen it parodied in a Pepsi ad from a few years back), but I've sadly never seen the actual film all the way through. Thanks for setting me straight.
